Streitberg's apparatus mentions an alternative reading gaseƕum (Gabelentz/Loebe) for CA gaseƕū. As the manuscript features S-type (type II) script, observing Latin practice, the scribal abbreviation could here indeed be expanded to /n/ or possibly /m/: gaseƕun (indirect speech) vs. gaseƕum (þatei with direct speech, closely reflecting Greek εἴδομεν). See Streitberg 1981, §355.2 and §356). Snædal 2013 has gaseƕun.
